Properties per ingredient: Cranberry is a very sour berry. It was long believed that it was the acidity of this berry that created an unfavorable environment for bacteria in the bladder. However, research has shown that this effect is based on a different mechanism. It is mainly the red dyes, proanthocyanidins, from Cranberries that prevent the bacteria from attaching to the bladder wall. This means that bacteria do not have the opportunity to multiply: they are excreted before they can cause problems. The degree of concentration is very important with Cranberry. Many cranberry-based supplements contain some of the berry, but not enough to have a powerful effect. This is why 1:25 was chosen for Cranberry Complete, which means that one kilo of extract is obtained from 25 kg of cranberry, which is very concentrated.
Vitamin C (as L-Ascorbic Acid) makes the urine more acidic and the environment for bacteria in the bladder even more unattractive.
