Our ingredients

To make our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, so that it can be processed better in our chunks. With the right amount of vegetables, fruit and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for the dog.

Buffalo

At Yourdog we use meat from freely raised and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color and is full of vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is packed with health benefits.

Poultry

These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food has been carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed or the breed group, ingredients are given extra attention. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced by the use of herbs, roots, flowers and plants.

We have carefully examined the breed characteristics of the Irish Wolfhound. We have also conducted research into the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Irish Wolfhound belongs. From these studies, in consultation with a leading Dutch nutritionist, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Irish Wolfhound.

Parsley

Parsley is a biennial, winter-hardy, herbaceous plant from the lacecap family. Parsley has been used as a medicinal herb for hundreds of years. There are dozens of diseases that parsley fights. According to various sources, it cures, among other things, diarrhea, anemia and ear infection. It is packed with more iron than, for example, spinach. Parsley also contains other minerals such as silicon, as well as vitamins B and C and carotene.

At Yourdog we add parsley to dog food because it could make a positive contribution to the prevention of breed-specific complaints in relation to the blood, heart and kidneys.

Parsley is a natural source of vitamins C, A and K. This can contribute to the immune system and the eyes and the cardiovascular system and the liver. Parsley also has anti-inflammatory properties and can have a diuretic effect, keeping the dog's bladder free of pollution.

Marigold

The marigold (calendula) is a plant that, like the goldenrod, belongs to the composite family. Calendula is a cultivated flower; It has been used for many years for its various medicinal properties. The original calendula species probably grew in Asia and Eastern Europe, but this field marigold is hardly found in the wild anymore. Marigold is also an edible plant for humans and is rich in nutrients.

There is a lot of information available about the positive effects of calendula. We can add calendula to dog food because it could make a positive contribution to the prevention of breed-specific complaints in relation to the skin, mouth, throat, digestion, eyes and feet. Particularly good for the recovery of the skin and mucous membranes, it has an anti-inflammatory effect and has a regenerating effect. It can also prevent cramps during the digestive process.

Calendula is mainly used as an external care product for, among other things, scratches or skin problems. But it can also be used internally because of its regenerating properties.

Celery

Celery is a plant from the umbellifer family. The plant is often found along the coast on wet ground.

Celery is rich in vitamins A, C and K, but also contains a lot of folic acid and potassium. In addition, celery is fat-free, rich in fiber and very low in calories.

We add celery to our dog food because it can make a positive contribution to supporting the dog's immune system and digestion. It can also have a positive influence on the skin and coat, the functioning of the muscles and nerves through vitamin A and the maintenance of strong bones through vitamin K.

Puppy, adult or senior?

To help you make the right choice between our Irish Wolfhound dog food varieties, you can use the following guidelines. If your Irish Wolfhound is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variant. For an Irish Wolfhound older than 7 years old, we recommend the Yourdog Irish Wolfhound Senior. If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years old, you can choose the Adult variant.

Nutritional advice

Switching advice

If you switch to Yourdog from another food brand, we recommend following the following steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then you feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this again for two or three days. Then you mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog has now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. You can then feed 100% Yourdog Irish Wolfhound dog food at your own discretion.

Storage advice

After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture and light, which can affect the shelf life and taste. It is therefore important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage box or barrel in a dry, cool and dark place. It is best not to put the food loose in the barrel, but to place it in the barrel with the entire bag, which you close as best as possible.
