What is a water blower?

Why is a quality water blower useful?
A water blower offers several benefits for your dog, but also for yourself. With a silent water blower it is quite simple to blow your dog's wet or dirty coat dry, clean and tangle-free. Dog hair that has been wet for a longer period of time often starts to smell and it is much more pleasant for the dog to have a dry and clean coat again. Your dog can get cold if the coat remains wet and can even catch a cold and become ill.
A silent water blower is therefore ideal after a wet walk, a splash in the water or a lovely dip in the mud, because your dog will be nice and clean and fresh again in no time. This prevents your house from being full of drops of dirty water, sand and other dirt that your dog drags in through its fur. You already read it, from now on your interior will stay a lot cleaner with a water blower.

Using a quiet water blower for the dog
The control of a water blower is equipped with a volume knob to determine the blowing speed and a knob to adjust the heat, to make it as pleasant as possible for the dog. A strong air flow ensures that the coat and skin surface are dried.
A water blower is often equipped with three different nozzles. In almost all cases it concerns a round mouthpiece, a wide and flat mouthpiece. The wide and flat nozzle is mainly intended to blow away superficial water or dirt, the round nozzle is often used to blow the undercoat from your dog's coat.
Tips:
Make sure that you always blow in the direction of your dog's hair growth and not against it, this ensures that your dog has a pleasant feeling and experiences the water blower as something fun and positive.
What is also important and what you need to ensure is that the nozzle of the water blower is kept relatively close to your dog's skin, but never directly on the skin. Then make gentle movements in the direction of hair growth.
Why use a dog water blower and absolutely no hair dryer
As in the heading above “What is a water blower?” already described, there is a real difference between a water blower for the dog and a hair dryer. A hair dryer works on the basis of warm and sometimes even hot air, which can damage your dog's coat and skin. Importantly, hot air will hurt the dog and you definitely don't want that.
When using a water blower you prevent problems as described above, your dog will be grateful.
For a positive experience, get your dog used to the water blower
Using a water blower can be quite scary for your dog at first. The dog really has to get used to new sounds and a higher wind speed.
Below are 4 good steps to get your dog used to a water blower. Getting the dog used to the water bladders in a good and calm way is really a must in most cases.
Step-by-step plan for water blower dog:
Step 1: Put the water blower down and do not connect it to electricity. Let your dog sniff the water blower and reward for good behavior, do this for +-5 to 10 minutes. Does your dog look relaxed and does the water blower seem to be accepted? Then continue to step 2.
Step 2: Make sure that the blowing speed is as low as possible, do not install a mouthpiece yet and turn on the water blower. It is preferable to ensure that your dog is at a small distance from the water blower before the water blower is turned on, so that the dog does not shy away from the water blower. Let your dog run free near the water blower and reward for good behavior for +-10 to 20 minutes. Does your dog look relaxed and does the water blower still seem to be accepted? Continue to step 3.
Step 3: Grab the mouthpiece of the water blower and let the dog get used to the blowing force (do not aim at the head), continue to reward desired behavior, this keeps it fun for your dog. If this goes well, continue to step 4.
Step 4: Has the water blower been somewhat accepted by the dog? Gradually increase the blowing force and, if necessary, install a mouthpiece and gradually increase this step by step.
Tips:
Is your dog startled, or does your dog not look relaxed during one of the steps? Then take a step back and try again later.
Remember that your dog needs to get used to new sounds and conditions, so build up the use of the water blower slowly.
